ACT, SAT and SAT II Subject Tests
I have over 4 years experience preparing students for American standardised tests. To ensure I can teach these to the highest standard, I only teach tests I can achieve a perfect score in myself - a 1600 on the SAT, a 36 on the ACT.

I have had great success helping with schoolwork, principally Maths and English, though I am willing to aid students across the school curriculum.

University Level Humanities Subjects

I have also previously taught at university level at Cambridge and Lyon. I am happy to help with undergraduate students in the humanities who would like extra guidance on research skills, essay writing and critical theory.

Please get in contact for my rates for SAT/ACT tuition, schoolwork or university coaching. My standard rates are reasonable and competitive. However, I also offer tuition on a sliding scale for those less able to pay - please feel free to discuss this with me if this applies to you so that we can come to a mutually beneficial arrangement.

For SAT and ACT students, I am also currently offering a free introductory session so that I can assess your current level, needs and the best way to progress, and so that you can get a feel for my teaching style.

One to one tuition is, to my mind, one of the best ways to learn, and as such it should not remain a privilege for only those who can afford it. I am keen to offer pro-bono work, or to volunteer with partners in Glasgow or London to provide education assistance to those who need it. Face to Face Lessons

I am currently mainly based in Glasgow, so face to face lessons can be arranged at your home, my flat or a mutually agreed public location. I also return to London periodically, and intensive periods of face to face lessons can be arranged during school holidays.

I see many students internationally via Skype, emailing materials to them in advance and using online whiteboards to work through complex topics.

I was a private tutor before I even realised it - as a teenager I would often visit my friends' houses to help them revise for maths exams or structure and English essay. Years of one to one teaching has made me an empathetic, encouraging and enthusiastic tutor. As I know that many teenagers have intense phobias about maths or are reticent to creatively engage with literature, I ensure that my lessons make students comfortable, relaxed and ready to start enjoying learning.
